Coffee shops have come a long way since the days when they were stuffed with second-hand couches and mismatched everything. Now, cafes can be eclectic art houses, Scandi-modern odes to minimalism, and upscale coffee bars. But the one thing they must always be is comfortable.
In today’s gig economy, the local cafe or coffeehouse often doubles as a remote office or study hall. So while tables don’t have to be big enough to accommodate large plates of food, they do need to be able to hold coffee and a laptop.
